How to stop receiving empty notifications?
If you’re receiving Stockie notifications that contain no products, it means your scheduled notification is still sending even when no items are currently low in stock.
This only happens for scheduled notifications when the option “Only receive notifications when there are low inventory products” is not checked.
How to stop empty notifications
- Open the Stockie app in your Shopify admin.
- Go to the Notifications page.
- Select the notification you’d like to edit.
- Scroll to the Delivery and scheduling section.
- Check the box next to: ✅ Only receive notifications when there are low inventory products
When this setting is enabled, Stockie will only send notifications (by email or other channels) if at least one product in your notification meets its low stock threshold.
Why empty notifications happen
Scheduled notifications are designed to send at fixed times — for example, every day or every Monday morning.
If the “only send when low” option is turned off, Stockie will send a notification at the scheduled time even if no products currently need restocking.
This can be useful for merchants who prefer a daily confirmation that everything is fully stocked, but most choose to disable empty sends.
Important notes
- This setting applies only to scheduled notifications. Instant notifications are never empty, since they’re triggered the moment a product crosses its threshold.
- If you have multiple notifications, you’ll need to update this setting for each one individually.
