How does the Send now button work?

The Send now button lets you manually trigger a low stock email at any time — without waiting for your next scheduled send.

It’s a quick way to confirm your notification setup or get an updated overview of what’s currently running low.

How it works

When you click Send now on any notification:

  • Stockie immediately checks all products and variants included in that notification.
  • It identifies which products are currently below their low stock threshold.
  • It sends a batched summary email containing those products — just like a scheduled notification.

💡 Even if the notification is normally set to Instant, clicking Send now will still send a summary-style email, not individual instant alerts.

This ensures you get one consolidated report showing everything currently low in stock, rather than multiple separate emails.

What you’ll see in the email

The Send now email includes:

  • All products and variants that meet the notification’s criteria.
  • The current available quantity for each item.
  • Any configured threshold (Classic Mode) or reorder point (Smart Mode).
  • The same email format used for your scheduled notifications.

When to use Send now

You might use the Send now button when:

  • You’ve just created or updated a notification and want to test it.
  • You’d like to quickly review what’s currently low in stock before your next scheduled send.
  • You’re troubleshooting email delivery issues.

Important notes

  • Send now does not affect your regular notification schedule — it’s simply an on-demand snapshot.
  • It uses the latest available inventory data from Shopify at the time you click.
  • For stores with very large catalogs, sending may take a few extra minutes while Stockie queries your inventory data.
